Melissa’s Family Session | Ute Valley Park, Colorado Springs

Melissa’s family session at Ute Valley Park was one of those golden evenings where everything just aligned — the sun dipped low, casting warm light over the tall grasses, and the mountain views created the perfect backdrop for a session full of love and quiet moments.

We started on a cozy blanket, where the family read a story together, soaking in the sunshine and each other’s company. There’s something so tender about capturing those small, everyday moments — they often become the ones we treasure most.

From there, we wandered to a small wooden bridge and stumbled upon a patch of milkweed. The kids were delighted to blow the seeds into the breeze, and I was able to capture their wonder and joy in those candid, fleeting moments.

One thing I always make space for during family sessions is a few quiet moments with just the parents. Melissa and her husband shared a sweet connection that was so easy to capture — a quick cuddle, a laugh, a glance. Because as much as these sessions are about family, they’re also about the love story that started it all.

Our pictures turned out wonderful! Sarah has such a good eye! My family is very comfortable with her. I couldn’t be happier!
