Brooke’s Family Session | 11 Mile Reservoir, Colorado
There’s something about the way the evening light hits the water at 11 Mile Reservoir — golden, breezy, and full of movement. That’s exactly how this session with Brooke’s family felt: lighthearted, love-filled, and glowing with connection.
We spent the evening chasing the sun through tall grasses, the lake shimmering behind them, the wind brushing through everyone’s hair. Brooke and her husband brought their two older children, and we ran around playing tag, laughing the entire time. I love sessions where play turns into genuine connection — where kids forget there’s a camera and just enjoy the moment.
One of my favorite parts of any family session is stepping back and capturing the couple alone. It’s easy to focus solely on the kids, but I always make time to document the love story at the heart of the family. Watching Brooke and her husband together — the way they looked at each other, laughed, and held each other — was beautiful. That spark is still so present, and it radiated in every image.
This session was the perfect blend of fun, intimacy, and nature’s quiet magic.
