Ashley’s Sunset Session on the Natchez Trace Parkway | Nashville, TN
For my birthday this year, my husband surprised me with a trip to Nashville — and of course, I had to sneak in a few photo sessions while we were there! I joined a few local Facebook groups, posted my availability, and within minutes, Ashley reached out and grabbed the first open spot.
From the start, I was so excited about her vision. We texted back and forth for hours, dreaming up ideas and locations. I even did a little Google Earth scouting (shoutout to street view), but nothing beats exploring in real life. One morning, my husband and I headed out to Leiper’s Fork for breakfast, and it turned out to be the best decision ever.
The locals kept raving about the Natchez Trace Parkway — saying it was a must-see — so we took their advice and drove out there. As soon as we arrived, I knew we’d found the spot. A few nights later, Ashley and I met up there, and it was everything she had imagined.
We had the best of both worlds: lush woods, golden light, open roads, and that iconic bridge. The session was pure magic, filled with connection, color, and adventure. It reminded me just how much I love photographing in new places and letting the location inspire the story.
Where to next? I’m not sure yet, but I’ll definitely be back to Tennessee. Until then — give me a good view, a dreamy couple, and a camera, and I’m all in.
