A Fall Family Session with Music, Love, and Legacy in Fountain, Colorado

This beautiful fall mini session in Fountain, Colorado was full of pride, personality, and connection. I had the joy of photographing a sweet family with two older children — one in college and one in high school — both of whom have devoted years to playing in their school bands.

Wanting to honor their passions, the family brought along their band instruments to incorporate into the session. It added such a meaningful and unique touch, highlighting the time, effort, and joy music has brought to their lives. I always love sessions with older children — there’s a deeper layer of reflection and pride in these moments. The dynamic shifts, and you can truly see the legacy of love and support between parents and kids.

We wandered through an open field in Fountain, Colorado, with soft golden grasses and autumn tones all around. I captured the whole family together, then pulled mom and dad aside for some portraits of just the two of them — something I always love doing to remind couples of the bond they’ve built. I also took time to photograph each child individually, showcasing their personalities and achievements.

This session was full of quiet joy and a deep sense of pride. It reminded me how meaningful it is to capture the seasons of family life, no matter what stage they're in.

Sarah is incredibly easy to work with! Our session went by so quickly as she seamlessly moved us through poses and settings. We received our sneak peeks after only 2 days, with the rest of the photos just a couple days later. Definitely recommend booking with Sarah!
