Rainy Day Magic | Carla’s Downtown Buffalo Family Session

One of the things I love most about this job is watching families grow—Carla’s family is a perfect example. I’ve had the joy of photographing her and her three granddaughters for a few years now, and every session brings something new and meaningful.

This time, we met at the Buffalo Art Museum in downtown Buffalo, New York. It was a rainy day, but we embraced the weather and found beauty in the moment. The museum’s stunning architecture and soft, overcast light created the perfect backdrop for their session. These three girls have grown up right in front of my lens—from giggling teenagers to young women stepping confidently into their futures. One is now in nursing school, and another is getting ready to graduate high school. It’s wild and beautiful to see their transformations.

We laughed, we danced in the drizzle, and we made more memories to hold on to. Rain or shine, it’s moments like these that remind me why I do what I do.

Love Vintage Violets Photography. I wouldn’t use any other photographer for my grandchildren. Sarah takes her time and has the patience of a saint with my littlest one. Her backdrops are one-of-a-kind and make for unique gifts for all our family members. I get constant compliments and always have folks asking “who took those photos; they are fabulous.” If you’re looking for a fantastic photographer, Vintage Violets is the place to go!
