Karter & John’s Giveaway Date Night Session at 1 C Barn
A few months ago, I teamed up with some incredible local vendors — 1 C Barn, Minnie’s Macarons, and Kat Sooner — to host a giveaway for one lucky couple! The prize included a two-night stay at the stunning 1 C Barn wedding venue in Black Forest, Colorado, a dozen macarons from Minnie’s Macarons, full hair and makeup by Kat Sooner, and a one-hour photo session with me. Karter and John were the lucky winners!
After hopping on a video call with Karter, I knew this was going to be a good time. Her energy and personality were amazing, and I could already tell she and John would be down for anything. My creative wheels started turning immediately.
When session day arrived, we kicked things off by exploring the grounds at 1 C Barn. Karter and John danced, laughed, and ran barefoot through the grassy fields like total naturals. Then we took it inside for some cozy date night vibes — baking in the kitchen and playing a board game together.
At one point, they even shotgunned beers out back (yes, really!), and I was just along for the ride as the best third wheel ever, documenting every moment. It truly felt like photographing old friends.
To end the evening, they jumped into the hot tub on the back patio for a little post-date relaxation. It was the perfect way to wrap up such a fun and intimate session.
Since then, Karter and I have stayed in close contact — she’s an event planner herself, and we’ve already collaborated on two styled shoots with another on the way. I’m so grateful our paths crossed and can’t wait to capture more magic with her and John in the future.
