Intimate Lake House Wedding in Grand Lake | Cassie & Zach

Cassie and Zach’s intimate wedding in Grand Lake, Colorado was the kind of celebration that reminds you what weddings are really about — love, connection, and meaningful moments with your closest people.
Set at a private lake house on Shadow Mountain Lake, this micro wedding was pure magic. The views alone were breathtaking — mountain reflections shimmering on the lake, pines surrounding the shore, and the quiet kind of beauty that Colorado does best. But it was everything else that made this day truly unforgettable.
Their closest friends transformed the space into a wedding day dream, creating the decor from scratch. You would have thought they were professional planners — every detail was so thoughtfully and beautifully arranged. From the ceremony backdrop to the table settings and florals, the whole day radiated love and intention.
Though Cassie’s father had passed years ago, his presence was felt in the most heartfelt ways. A photo of him was delicately tied to her bouquet, and another was placed near the gift table — subtle, powerful reminders that he was still a part of their day.
Their two dogs joined in the celebration, making for some sweet and playful moments, and a canoe ride on the lake gave us the most romantic portraits as the sun began to dip behind the peaks.
To top it off, a private chef prepared an incredible dinner right at the house, and the evening closed with a truly emotional moment — a mother-son dance to a song written by Zach’s dad. There wasn’t a dry eye in the room.
Cassie and Zach’s wedding was a perfect example of why I love micro weddings. They are personal, emotional, and wildly meaningful. And this one? It was a dream to capture from start to finish.
