Garage Minis | A Creative Session with Susan

Sometimes the most spontaneous ideas turn into the most joyful memories.

I was craving a creative outlet and happened to stumble across a Marketplace listing for colorful paper backdrops at a great price. Without thinking twice, I grabbed a few and set them up in my garage. Then I invited one of my good friends, Susan, over for a fun, no-pressure mini session — just her, her coffee, and lots of laughter.

We played around with different accent colors, starting with the pink and then moving to the blue. Each setup brought out a different vibe, and Susan’s radiant energy made the whole experience so much fun. There was no pressure, no plan — just creativity and connection.

That impromptu shoot sparked something in me, and I’ve started offering these simple, sweet paper backdrop minis right from my garage. It’s a perfect way to embrace creativity in a low-key setting and capture vibrant, joyful portraits without overthinking it.

Sometimes, all it takes is a pop of color, a good friend, and a little space to create something really special.
