There’s just something magical about fall in the Colorado mountains — the crisp air, golden aspens, and a love story unfolding in the most beautiful way. Karter and John’s engagement session was the perfect blend of fun, laughter, and connection, set against a backdrop of vibrant yellow leaves and mountain peaks.

Karter has one of those smiles — the kind that lights up a room (or in this case, the entire forest). You can’t help but feel her joy radiate through the lens. She was beaming all day, so clearly excited about this next chapter with John. These two are the kind of couple that makes you believe in easy love — full of laughs, playful banter, and genuine connection.

Their story with me actually started a year ago when they won a giveaway session I hosted. Since then, we’ve kept in touch, and when it came time for their engagement session, they knew they wanted to work together again — and I was so honored to be part of their journey.

We explored the golden mountain trails, surrounded by glowing aspens and autumn light. Whether they were wrapped up in each other or goofing around mid-hike, every photo felt natural and full of life. And, of course, we ended the session in true Karter-and-John fashion: shotgunning a couple of beers and closing out the day with laughter echoing through the trees.

This session was such a joy to capture — one that perfectly reflects their adventurous spirit and deep love. I can’t wait to photograph their wedding day!
