Golden Aspens & Loyal Companions: Renee & Brett’s Mountain Couples Session

There’s nothing better than photographing two people you care about — especially when it means hiking through golden aspens with their pups by their side. Renee and Brett are close friends of mine, and this session up in the burn scar of Colorado Springs was as special as it gets.

With their two dogs trotting along, we wandered the trails surrounded by fall color. The golden aspens glowed, the mountain breeze carried laughter, and their older pup soaked up every minute. Capturing those moments — especially with a beloved senior dog — was incredibly meaningful.

We danced to a few favorite songs in the open field, letting the setting sun spill through the trees and illuminate the joy between them. There was no strict posing or timeline — just natural connection, honest moments, and the kind of love that radiates in quiet gestures.
