From Bump to Beach Days: A Family Session with Nick, Karly & Their Girls

Every time I head back to New York to visit family, I make sure to let my amazing clients know I’ll be in town — and without fail, Nick and Karly always reach out to book a session. This family has had my heart for years now, and it’s been such a joy to document their milestones along the way.

A few months back, I captured their maternity session as they eagerly awaited the arrival of their baby girl. And this time, I got to meet her sweet, squishy self — now earthside and absolutely adored by her big sister.

We spent the evening at the beach, chasing light, splashing at the shoreline, and just letting this beautiful family be themselves. Karly and Nick are one of those couples who make everything look easy. They’re playful, connected, and so clearly in love — which makes my job capturing their story feel effortless. The girls were full of giggles and curiosity, their bond already so strong and full of sweetness.

One of the most powerful moments of the session was when I photographed Karly nursing her baby girl in the water. It was raw and natural — a quiet, sacred pause in the midst of all the fun. These are the kinds of moments I live to freeze in time: real, honest, and full of emotion.
